Prayer Walk

This next week, God has opened up the opportunity for me to participate in a Prayer Walk in the Paria Canyon.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with this, it is a backpacking trip through the Paria Canyon - Buckskin Gulch in Utah/Arizona.  This prayer walk will consist of each person carrying a 30 - 50 lb backpack with all your food and supplies for the week.  We will walk in on Sunday May 23rd, and we will walk out on Friday May 28th.

We will average walking about 10 miles a day over difficult terrain.  The Prayer Walk is an opportunity for each man to quiet the noise in his life and just to walk into a place of solitude practicing the command: Be still and know that I am God.  I am filled with much excitement and a healthy respect of fear for what we are about ready to embark on.  I really am anticipating and asking God that He would make this a time of spiritual cleansing for me.

Please join me in the following prayer:
A.W. Tozer's God's Pursuit of Man
"But for the searching of the scriptures and true knowledge of them, an honorable life is needed, and a pure soul, and that virtue which is according to Christ; so that the intellect guiding its path by it may be able to attain what it desires, and to comprehend it, in so far as it is accessible to human nature to learn concerning the Word of God.  For without a pure mind and a modeling of the life after the saints, a man could not possibility comprehend the words of the saints....He that would comprehend the mind of those who speak of God needs begin by washing and cleansing the soul."
